Mother Goddess Shakti,  the female manifestation of the supreme lord, is also referred as Prakruti and Shiva as Purusha.

Tulasi - Pious Lady. She is worshipped in the form of "Plant" in every house of Hindu community. She is considered as avatar of Lakshmi.  Tulasi vivah is celebrated  during karthikamasa dwadasi thithi celebrated as Ksheerabdi Dwadasi (Marriage of Sri Mahavishnu withTulasi). Tulasi (Holy Basil) leaves have medicinal values for  skin problems, to relieve from cold, cough and fever.

Garbha Rakshambigai

She is the Goddess of Fertility. Mostly Issueless couples and pregnant women visit this shrine for begetting a healthy child and also to have safe delivery. This temple is located at Tanjavur (Tanjore) in Kumbakonam road. Ghee and pooja materials (Flowers, camphor, fruits) are available at nearby street vendors. Priest perform abhishekam with Ghee and return the abhishekam Ghee with Vibudhi (holy ash) as prasadam to devotees. Issueless couple should consume this Ghee daily for certain number of days. Couples who remained childless for many years were blessed with healthy kids with divine Goddess blessings.

Devotees revisit the temple with the newborn to thank Amman, by placing the baby in a Silver Cradle and make circumbulations around the temple thanking Goddess for the happy pregnancy and safe delivery. (Silver cradles can be rented at the temple)

 

Chottanikkara Bhagavathi Amman

This is one of the beautiful temples of Amman located in the state of Kerala, India. Devotees who visit Shabarimala make it a point to visit this shrine.  The temple's architecture and pooja vidhanam is worth seeing. The divine mother known as Adiparashakti is worshipped here as Saraswathy in the morning, Lakshmi during noon and Durga in the evening.
